Today, we’re so excited to start sharing our corporate events with our readers! This first post will be covering Pennybacker’s Holiday Party that our planner, Kristi DePew coordinated in December of 2021.
A few Pennybacker partners reached out to us so that we could help them set up an office party to be held at the end of a large training conference. They wanted to capture a “holiday” style but not too “Christmas”-like, and also “decorative” but not “girly”. Because their employees had been training in that exact empty event room at the Hotel Magdalena a few days prior, the main objective was to surprise them with a beautifully modified space!
Hotel Magdalena’s event room was a blank slate that opened up onto this wide lawn with string lights near the restaurant. Kristi said “it was super modern, cool, and very Austin!” To achieve the decor-style that Pennybacker was searching for, Kristi brought in floral from Kitsch Event Styling, draping from Unique Designs and Events, lighting from Premier Entertainment Group, linens from Premiere Events, and greenery rentals from Party at the Moontower. Kristi “liked how bringing in rental plants, draping, and some simple uplights really dressed up the space without much effort. Decor is always my favorite part!”
To be extra covid-safe amidst the rise of Omicron, Pennybacker required that each employee be tested before attending the training. Also, the doors were kept open so that guests had an outdoor option if they wanted to feel more comfortable.
As for the final outcome, the 75 guests in attendance were simply stunned once they arrived. For privacy purposes, we won’t be showing pictures during the event, but you can certainly tell from these pre-party photos how amazing this event turned out.
They listened to the music provided by Weldon Henson, took fun photos with Booth Easy’s services, and were served 9 different delicious appetizers by Hotel Magdalena. Guests mainly congregated at the lounge and at the bars, and never stopped talking! At the end of the event, Kristi said “we had to kick them out.”
As they left, the guests received goody bags full of candies & other goodies from local Austin businesses. Everyone was commenting that “it was the best the holiday party [they] had ever seen”! We call that a huge success. Congratulations to Kristi for this corporate win! We can’t wait to keep putting on fun corporate events and sharing them with you all!
