Rogers-O'Brien Family Day at Pins ATX

There are corporate events, and then there are the ones where everyone gets to bring their kids, play games, eat Chick-fil-A, and spend an afternoon actually having fun together. We’re big fans of the second kind. We recently had the chance to plan Rogers-O’Brien Construction’s Family Day at Pins Mechanical Co. in Austin, and this one was exactly what a family event should be: casual, easy, kid-friendly, and full of things to do without feeling overly scheduled.
Rogers-O’Brien invited employees and their families to join us for a come-and-go afternoon at Pins, which is honestly such a great venue for this type of event. Guests could arrive when it worked for them, grab some food, play games, visit the photobooth, and let the kids bounce from activity to activity.
And when you’re planning a company family day, having enough to entertain the kids is pretty much half the battle.

Pins provided the built-in fun with foosball, pinball, games and a photo booth, while Jasper & Costello joined us for three hours of face painting and balloon twisting. It gave the younger guests plenty to do while the adults had time to hang out with coworkers and their families—which is really the whole point of an event like this.

For lunch, we kept things simple and crowd-friendly with individually packaged meals from Chick-fil-A, including chicken sandwiches for the adults and nugget meals with fruit for the kids. Sometimes corporate event food does not need to be complicated. When you have 150 adults and kids coming and going over a three-hour window, easy food that people are genuinely happy to eat is a win.

Our Eclipse team was there throughout the afternoon handling guest check-in, wristbands, attendance counts, and all of the little behind-the-scenes pieces that make a casual event actually feel casual to the people attending. We also set up QR codes so guests could upload and share their own photos from the afternoon and wrapped things up with a raffle toward the end of the event.
One thing we loved about this event was that there wasn't a minute-by-minute agenda guests had to follow. Employees could bring their families, stay as long as they wanted, play a few games, eat lunch, and simply enjoy some time together outside of work.
For companies planning employee appreciation events, we always love incorporating families when it makes sense. It gives coworkers a chance to get to know one another in a completely different way, kids get to see a little piece of their parents' work world, and the company gets an opportunity to say thank you to the people supporting their employees at home, too.
Thank you to Rogers-O’Brien Construction for trusting our team with another opportunity to bring people together. We loved spending the afternoon with your employees and their families!
