Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion: Atlassian's Loud & Proud Event

Atlassian, a company known for its amazing software and unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace, recently hosted an unforgettable corporate event that left attendees glittering with joy. On August 17, 2023, Atlassian's Austin office was transformed into a hub of celebration and awareness at the "Loud & Proud" event. This vibrant gathering was organized with a purpose-driven vision and aimed at promoting a focus on what we can learn from the LGBTQ+ community.

Atlassian collaborated with various vendors and even the organization Out Youth, to ensure that every aspect of the event was not only entertaining but also meaningful. The event planner, Lauren, and her assistants, played a pivotal role in coordinating the logistics. Their meticulous planning ensured that the event ran smoothly from start to finish.

To make sure the event was set to the 10’s, we naturally turned to Kitsch Event Styling for their fabulous décor and Premiere Events for their exceptional rentals!

The highlight of the evening was the LGBTQ+ community's incredible resilience and creativity. Atlassian made a bold statement by handing out branded socks from Pride Socks! This became an instant hit among the attendees. These socks symbolized unity and inclusion and served as a reminder of Atlassian's commitment to promoting diversity.

As guests mingled and enjoyed the festivities, of fun games from Austin Yard Games and even a glitter bar, that added an extra touch of sparkle to the event. The Unknown Legend Glitter Bar, helped every guest shine by applying glitter makeup. It was impossible to leave the glitter bar without a smile, and 100% of the guests got a little extra sparkle on their faces.

One of the event's most significant achievements was its collaboration with Out Youth, an organization dedicated to promoting the well-being of sexual and gender minority youth. Out Youth took the stage to lead a panel discussion featuring underrepresented members of the LGBTQ+ community and even an internal Atlassian team member. This panel provided a platform for the community to speak about their needs, challenges, and what others can learn from their experiences.

While celebrating diversity and inclusion, the event didn't forget the importance of delightful treats. Casey's New Orleans SnowBalls, provided special desserts that delighted attendees.

To further support Out Youth, Atlassian employees came together to pack 60 art kits for Out Youth clients. This community project exemplified Atlassian's commitment to making a positive impact beyond the corporate world.

The evening continued with a spectacular drag show, organized by Extragrams. The show seamlessly transitioned from a lively game of Drag Queen Music Bingo to an unforgettable performance that had everyone on their feet.

As the evening drew to a close, attendees were encouraged to network and savor the delicious food and beverages provided by Atlassian's trusted vendors. This was a time for reflection, celebration, and building connections within the LGBTQ+ community.
