When VISA asks you to plan a Welcome Back to the Office Party, you should expect to go big or go home! This was an event that Lauren coordinated back in December since it was the first time that the Austin VISA office would be opening its doors to remote/all employees.
The biggest goal we wanted to achieve was making the space feel fun, casual, and inviting so that coworkers could feel comfortable socializing within their office space. In order to set it up, we started off with having Kitsch Event Styling and Moontower Rentals load in floral decor and furniture. These made for some cute and comfy lounge spaces!
VISA’s team emphasized that they wanted to make a “choose your own adventure” situation, so we provided the (anticipated 500) guests with a huge array of activities to do. First, Austin Yard Games set up several outdoor games, which turned out to be super popular with the guests. Especially cornhole!
Then, Root Cellar Catering came to start prepping all of the yummy food and mocktails for guests. And wow, not only did these appetizers taste great, but they looked so cute too! We can thank CC Photo Factory for capturing these great shots, since they covered photography for the day. And for people who wanted to take their own selfies/pictures, they could go into the Oh Happy Day Photo Booth on-site as well!
And if you thought Root Cellar was the only food vendor… you must be new to VISA events! Guests were also given a “choose your own adventure” for food options, considering that we had several food trucks and stations! We brought in a Mellizoz Tacos Truck to serve delicious tacos, a Chilantro Truck for Korean BBQ, and a Cow Bells Truck to serve burgers. But wait, there’s more! Churro Burro had their own table stationed in the courtyard to serve sweet churros, and Creature Coffee Co was just a few feet away serving coffee and other cold drinks.
Although many of the vendors were stationed outside in the courtyard, there were 2 really cool activities inside for those guests that wanted to stay indoors. Premiere Entertainment Group set up Karaoke in one of the conference rooms, which was so cool! And just next door, Vogue Vignette came to do live sketches. Here is a fabulous sketch of theirs that was designed after your 3 favorite Eclipse Event Co. models: Lauren, Kelsey, and Andrea!
One of the most important vendors to contribute to the fun was the Cap City Band, since their live sets really pumped people up and made everyone feel like they were at an outdoor concert. This is one of our favorite bands because of their amazing performances AND their infectious positive energy!
At the end of the day, this was such an awesome event. For guests who felt the need to take covid precautions, they could wear a mask and enjoy the outdoor activities. For those who wanted to lounge, they could hangout on comfy and beautiful couches. There was truly something for everyone! We want to thank all of the many, many vendors that came together to make this event happen. You guys are a team of rockstars. And of course, thank you VISA for being an incredible partner to work with! Spoiler, we’ve already had more events together so be on the lookout for another VISA blog in the future (:
